THE LATE TOM QUIGLEY
The death occurred (suddenly at home) on Friday, September 6 of Tom Quigley, Corrigeen, Timahoe, Laois. Beloved husband of Breda, his remains were reposing in his home until removal for requiem mass at 12 noon in St Michaels Church, Timahoe on Monday followed by burial after in St Michael’s adjoining cemetery. To his extended family we tender our deepest sympathy.

PLOUGH ON AND RUN
Visitors to this year’s National Ploughing Championships will have the opportunity to take part in a 10k fun run. Local man Eoin Lowry is behind the event to bring local people out to kick off the ploughing, have fun and raise money for VITA. The Plough-On Run 10k will take place at 11am on September 22 in Ratheniska and run on the roads around the ploughing site. More information on facebook.com/PloughOnRun.
STEAM TRAIN RIDES
The Irish Steam Preservation Society’s Narrow Gauge Railway will have full steam up and running on Saturday, and Sunday 28 and 29 September from 1pm until 4pm each day. Fares children 2 and adults €6.
