Development of Poet’s Cottage
As many of you are aware we are presently getting the Poet’s cottage re-thatched. This is part of an overall development project, which the cottage is at the centre of. Two other elements of this development are the establishment of a parish website and a display area consisting of old traditional farm implements. Regarding the display area we have a number of implements presently, however if there is anyone with old traditional farm implements which they would like to see being displayed as part of this collection we would like to hear from you.
In relation to the Parish website, we would like all business and organisations to be involved and represented in the building of this site and all are welcome to come forward with their ideas. We are especially interested in getting photographs, both old and new from individuals and organisations, which tell us something about the parish. They can show anything from an event to the scenery to our history etc. Please contact Marguerite/Aidan at 0578735016 or at email@example.com
Well done to PJ Cuddy who was honoured in Croke Park as part of the GAA’s Hurling Stars of the 80s, where he was named at full forward. Portlaoise’s Pat Critchley was honorued on the same team.
