Abbey Theatre comes to town

Me, Mollser.

Me, Mollser.

Dunamaise Arts Centre is delighted to present The Abbey Theatre’s production of Me, Mollser for primary school children aged from 8 years on Friday, February 14 at 10am and 12pm.

Me, Mollser is a compelling, funny and poignant story of a strong-willed, passionate young Dubliner coping with TB during the 1913 Lockout and Easter Rising of 1916. She may be recognised from Sean O’Casey’s famous Irish play The Plough and the Stars, which was first performed at the Abbey Theatre in 1926.

Curious and enthusiastic, Mollser guides you through the overcrowded Dublin tenement where she lives. Her keen eye offers a view of daily life in turn of the century Dublin.

The play is part of the Abbey Theatre’s Priming the Canon project which aims to introduce the classics of Irish theatre to a younger audience. Tickets cost €7 include show, post-show talk, workshop and resource packs and available from the box office Tel: 057 8663355 .
