Abbeyleix bog race night in the Horse Shoe Bar on Friday, February 21 at 9.30pm. All proceeds to develop Abbeyleix bog as community amenity. Support greatly appreciated Weekly guided walks on the bog on Saturday mornings. Assemble at the Manor Hotel car park at 10.45 am. Parts of the walk are mucky at present so suitable wear suitable footwear.
Scoil Mhuire, Abbeyleix enrolment week from February 10-14. Parents who wish to enrol children in Junior Infants can visit the Junior Infants classroom from 2–2.30pm on Friday 14. Enrolment Forms and school handbooks are available from the school and various local pre-schools. Completed forms must be returned to the school by February 18 to secure a place for your child. Condolences Brigidine Order and family of the late Sr Felicitas Devery Abbeyleix and Cloghan, Co. Offaly who died peacefully on January 31, in her 100th year in the loving care of the staff of the District Hospital, Abbeyleix, her family and the Brigidine Sisters. Deeply regretted by her loving sister Bridget, extended family, her Brigidine Sisters, relatives and friends. Reposed at the Brigidine Sisters, Carlow Road, Abbeyleix. Removal to the Church of the Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix for Requiem Mass with interment afterwards in the Convent Cemetery.
