Death

The death has taken place (on Thursday, November 21) of Dan Purcell, husband of the late Chris of Moate, Ballyragget, Kilkenny. Dan having attained the great age of 89 years was an extremely friendly and knowledgeable man who loved to visit neighbours and friends and was active in doing so up to his passing. His removal took place on Sunday 24th November to St Patrick’s Church, Ballyragget for requiem mass with burial immediately afterwards in St. Finnan’s Cemetery. Deepest sympathy is extended to his daughters Eileen, Bernadette, Therese, Ann, Chris, Deirdre and sons John Joe, Martin and Paul, sister in law, sons in law, daughters in law, relatives and many friends. May he rest in peace.

Death

The death has also taken place (on Saturday 30th November last) of Mrs. Margaret (Peg) Delaney of Russellstown, Attanagh Widow of the late Jimmy Delaney, Peg the oldest inhabitant of Russellstown was a jovial, popular member of the wider community and long time member of the ICA. Reposing at her daughter Alice’s residence in Kilkenny removal took place to the Church of the Assumption, Ballyouskill on Monday, 2nd December last for requiem mass celebrated by Fr T. Murphy, Fr P. Farrell and Fr Carroll following which burial took place in St Finan’s Cemetery, Ballyragget. Deepest sympathy is extended to her son Jimmy, daughter Alice, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great grand children, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

25 Progressive Card Games

The winners of last week’s (29th November) 25 Progressive Card Games were Pat Foley and Paddy Lalor (10 games); and Larry Mahony and Martin Walsh (10 games).
