Vincent de Paul Shop
This new shop is now open in Abbeyleix in Moynans. People are invited to donate clothes, furniture, books, music (CD’s/DVD’s), toys and games in good condition. All items sold in the shop will be to help individuals and families in the local community, your help will be most welcome.
Concern has been expressed about the level of dog fouling in the village, particularly around the Churches and school. People are asked to clean up after their animals as it is a legal requirement to do so. Don’t forget your “pooper scooper”.
Ballinakill Parents Association would like to thank everyone who came to the end of year disco. A great fun evening had by all. They would also like to wish everyone in sixth class the very best of luck as they move onto secondary school. Thanks also for all the support during the year. Welcome to Allison Ritchie and Sandra Lacey our newly elected members of the committee and thanks to Linsey Kelly and Bridget Moore for all their contributions and help over the last number of years.
Ballinakill swimming pool will reopen on Sunday, July 6, with an opening day party from 1pm. All are welcome to come along. Times are yet to be confirmed and people can check the Ballinakill Facebook page to keep updated on swimming times.
Get into walking workshop as part of the Laois Walks Festival takes place on at the community hall in Ballinakill on Friday, July 25 at 6.30pm. Contact Ann 087 7749281. The workshop will be followed by a 5km family walk starting at the Square by Masslough and through Heywood Estate. Starts 7.30pm. There are walks in Spink and Abbeyleix during the festival.
Ballinakill Active Retirement Group have now finished up for the summer. The annual summer outing has been arranged for Tuesday, July 15. Meetings will resume on Wednesday the 10th of September. The committee wish everyone an enjoyable summer.
