Ballinakill Vintage Festival will held on Sunday, August 17. Events start with a Juvenile Fishing Contest in the morning followed by the Juvenile Hurling final. There will also be a car boot sale and stalls. The usual vintage cars, tractors, engines etc will be on display. There will also be a vintage dress competition on the day with prizes for best dressed man and woman. Music will be provided on the square by the ever popular Abbeyfolk. More details to follow nearer the day. Please come and support and enjoy a great day out.

Congratulations to Katherine Hyland, Heywood, Ballinakill, who qualified for All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil in Piano -accordion. She represented Laois, Spink Ceomhaltas, at the Leinster fleadh which was held in Moate, Co Westmeath. Katherine will now compete at Fleadh Cheoil Na hEireann which is being held in Sligo, in August. We would like to wish Katherine the very best of luck.

Family Fun Day
Family fun day on Sunday, August 3 in the GAA pitch at 2pm. Paddy Rohan Cup and lots of amusements and fun for all. Please come and enjoy. There will also be a 5km fun, run, walk on Saturday the 2nd of August. Registration and starting point is at the Old School Community Hall at 6.30pm. Adults €5 and children under 12 are free. There will be light refreshments afterwards.
A sincere Thank You from the Doheny Family and Friends of Fr Kevin Doheny to all who attended the Mass to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the foundation of Vita and Fr Kevin’s life and work. The afternoon was only possible with the huge ongoing support from local communities and Neighbours who assisted in setting up, stewarding and provision and serving of refreshments. We extend our Thanks and appreciation to one and all.
Bingo is held every Monday night in the hall on the square starting at 8.30 pm. Over €1,200 in prizes every week. There is also a raffle. More local support would be appreciated. Come and enjoy and you might be lucky.
