GARDENING

The Gardening Group are starting 2014 with a special night to make St Bridget’s Crosses. This will take place on Thursday January 30 from 7-8 in St Canice’s Hall, just in time for St Bridget’s Day. Rushes and willow will be used. Come along for a fun filled night.

SET DANCING

Set Dancing classes have started again on Monday nights in St Canice’s Hall at 8.30pm. The cost is €5 per night.

WOMENS WALKING GROUP

The Womens Walking Group held their AGM on Wednesday February 22. The following committee was elected for 2014: Chairperson Laura Sinnott, Vice Chairperson Jennifer Keeshan, Secretary Denise Origan, Ass. Secretary Kay Dowling, Treasurer Sharon Delaney, Ass. Treasurer Máiread Brophy, PRO Grace Fitzpatrick, Committee Geraldine Hough, Frances Fogarty, Dolores Sheridan.

We are currently planning fundraising events for Alopecia, our chosen charity for 2014. New members welcome.

FUNDRAISING DANCE

Laois and Tipperary Wheelchair Basketball Clubs are hosting a Fundraising Dance in Racket Hall Country House Hotel, Roscrea on Friday February 7 from 9 ’til late. Music by Outa Diesel & Many Local Friends. MC Kevin Lalor-Fitzpatrick from Midlands 103. Admission €10. Door prize €50 sponsored by Rosie O Gradys. SOCIAL DANCING

Dancing for Fun with Maureen Culleton takes place each Thursday in St Canice’s Hall from 2pm-4pm. All welcome.

Camógie & Hurling

St Brigids Camógie Club and Rathdowney/Errill Hurling Club are hosting Strictly Come Dancing in the Templemore Arms on Saturday March 1. Preparations well underway for what guarantees to be an enjoyable night. NINES FINAL

The final of the 27 Nines was played recently in the O’Brien Hall. Winners: Michael Muldowney, Tony O’Sullivan and Michael Higgins. Runners-up: Michael Muldowney, Mick Higgins, P.J.Holohan, Tom Lalor, Michael Muldowney & Joe Dooley.

MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

The annual 25 card game in aid of Multiple Sclerosis will take place on Thursday March 6 in the O’Brien Hall at 9pm. Support the cause by coming along on the night, buying a ticket, giving a donation or sponsoring a raffle prize. Tickets €10.

PROGRESSIVE 25 DRIVE

The Progressive 25 Drive is on every Thursday in the O’Brien Hall at 9pm. All welcome.
