Annual Fete

Annual Fete in Aghancon Community Hall on Sunday 6th July @ 230pm. Various stalls and plenty of attractions inc. Hoopla, Test your memory, Weight of cake, Bowling, Weight of sheep, Name the town, Lucky dip, Mice & much more. Adm. including tea €3 hildren free. Proceeds in aid of Church Funds.

CCÉ Camross

Beginning on Friday 27th June CCÉ Camross are holding their annual Summer Seisún, in Bergin’s Inn Camross, and this continues every Friday evening throughout July and August. Seisún provides a unique entertainment experience for holiday makers at venues like Begins all around Ireland during the months of July & August. A stage show of Irish music, song and dance, it features the authentic traditional entertainment as enjoyed by generations of Irish people. Everyone is welcome to join in the experience. There will be an opportunity to play a few tunes or dance a few steps and sing a song of two for those who wish to participate in the show. Tea, sandwiches and goodies will be provided. Show starts at 9.30pm approx. Bigí linn d’oíche col agus craic!

Parish social

The long running Camross Parish social continues to grow in popularity and on Saturday night next July 5th Pat Conlon will provide music for dancing in the Parish centre commencing at nine thirty and supper will be served all for just seven Euros come and enjoy a great summer nights entertainment.

Macra Barbeque

Camross Macra are holding their annual Barbeque in Begins Lounge on Saturday week July 12th Last year the main beneficiaries were Laois Hospice and the committee hope to help the Hospice again with your support. Please support this progressive group of young people and by helping them you are also supporting the Laois Hospice. Music will be provided by the ever popular Tim Chambers and his Orchestra.

GAA

Camross junior team had important games at the weekend with the junior B side playing Colt in the semi-final on Sunday and on last night Monday the junior A team were in Raheen for a semi-final meeting with Shanahoe please check Laois GAA website for results. Meanwhile the senior team have a must win game against Clough-Ballacolla on this Wednesday evening July 2nd at seven forty five, the winners here will advance to the league semi-final. The minors suffered defeat to the Harps Gaels in the league last Monday. The club would like to congratulate Tadgh Doran and Michelle Harding on their recent Nuptials and wish them every happiness in the future. The club would like to extend deepest sympathy to Brian and the Allen family On the sudden death last week of their brother Harold who was laid to rest in Roskelton cemetery on Wednesday last.

Cemetery Masses

Cemetery Mass will be celebrated in Kyle cemetery on this Thursday evening July 3rd at seven thirty and advance notice of cemetery Mass in Camross is that the date for that ceremony is Friday August 1st at eight o’clock please inform friends and relations outside the Parish.

Please note change of Mass times in St Edmunds Church Castletown Saturday evening is 7-30pm on Sunday morning 10-30Am and the Pike of Rushall is 9-30am on Sunday morning.
