Camross set dancers enjoy shave or dye

The shave or dye fundraiser for the Irish Cancer Society organised by the Camross Adult Set Dancing Group held in Camross Inn on Saturday April 6 was a huge success.

A great night’s entertainment was had by all the participants, Crescentia Phelan, Charlotte Phelan, Catherine Lalor, Michael Lalor, Barry Byrne, Olivia Byrne, Andy Seymour, Mary Tiernan, Caroline Phelan, Mary Thompson, Josie Conroy, Joanne Steenkist, Fran Hogan and Nora Reilly.

The group we would like to thank all the people who sponsored the participants and gave donations and all the people who supported on the night. They would like to thank Sean and Pauline Bergin for their support and help on the night.

Thanks are also extended to Martin Delaney for providing the music and thanks to Eddie Phelan who sponsored the food on the night. Thanks to Marcel Steenkist for the photography. Thanks to Jackie Dowling and her assistant Laura, and Brendan Peters, who did the shave or dye on the night.

A monster raffle was held on the night and thanks to Mary Collier and Caroline Phelan for looking after the raffle. Many thanks to all those who sponspored prizes and all the friends of the participants who gave prizes for the raffle. The group wish to thank them all for their support and generosity for this worthwhile cause.

The funds raised on the night came to €8100 and were presented in Camross Hall on Wednesday September 18 to Matt Lewis from the Irish Cancer Society.

Camross adult set dancing classes will resume on Wednesday October 9 at 9pm.
