The first meeting of the new year took place on Thursday night February 6 presided over by guild president Mary Keenan. The guild send good wishes to the Phelan family Cuddagh and especially to baby Robbie as he has started his treatment. Next meeting is on Thursday, March 6 at 8pm in the hall. Exercise Classes will have commenced in the ICA Hall on Thursday nights commencing at 7 30pm every body welcome.

Robbie Phelan fund

The committee members of the Robbie Phelan Fund are hold a fundraising event in The Racket Hall Roscrea on Sunday, March 16 at 8.30pm. Entertainment on the night will be from Damien Bowe and The Vows with special guests Carmel Minogue, Billy Dollard, Valerie McGovern, Christy Phelan, Kieran Scott, Bernie Coss and Many More. Tickets are €10 and are available from any committee member.

Robbie’s parents are Martin and Claire he has two sisters. Robbie has Mucopolysaccharidosis-type 1, better known as Hurlers Syndrome a rare genetic disease that affects a person’s metabolism. This disease requires long term care. In order for Robbie to receive the best possible care he is attending the Children’s University Hospital, Temple Street, Dublin each week. Robbie will be travel to the Royal Children’s Hospital, Manchester, to undergo a Bone Marrow Transplant and will have ongoing treatment in Crumlin.

Churchfield Heights

Churchfield Heights Residents committee are looking for someone to cut the grass area in the estate weekly from April to Sept. Must have your own ride on mower and a way of collecting and taking the grass. We would be grateful if anyone who might be interested would contact 085 2078000 with a price which will be brought to the committee for consideration.

Naomh Éamann Juvenile GAA

Naomh Éamann Camogie will be holding a Monster Bingo Evening in Castletown Community Centre on Good Friday 18th April 2014. More details will follow in the coming weeks edition. Keep that date free and bring along your family and friends for a very enjoyable evening. Well done and congratulations to our U13s, U14s and U17 hurlers who were all presented with medals by Paul Cuddy, Ben Conroy and Brendan Reddin last Friday night. Training will be commencing for all teams in the coming weeks while some teams are already back. Registration fee of €20 per child and €50 per family of three or more is also now due.

DAFFODIL DAY

Daffodil Day this year takes place on Friday March 28 and organisers in the Borris in Ossory area would welcome more volunteers to help sell the daffodils.
