STEPHEN’S DAY WALK

The annual walk was a fantastic success. Huge thanks to all volunteers who worked tirelessly to prepare signs, make food, organise the centre, etc, to all the young helpers, the sponsors and Sean & Denise Flynn for the bread rolls.

WALK review

A follow-up meeting on the hospice walk is on Tuesday January 28 at 8pm in the Community Centre. All who helped are invited to make suggestions for 2015.

PIETA HOUSE 5K rUN

The Clonaslee “Couch to 5K” running club, with Rosenallis AC and Kilcavan AC, will hold a 5K Fun Run for Pieta House suicide crisis centre on Sunday March 16, 11.30am.  €10 Adults, €5 U16’s and €20 per family. For all ages and abilities. Join the new “Couch to 5K” program to train. Call Margaret on 086-866-8820. Ladies, gents & kids groups.

MUSIC CLASSES

Thursdays from 4:15pm in the Community Centre. Beginners welcome, instruments include tin whistle, accordion, fiddle, banjo and keyboard. For more info call John 085-285-1772. Outstanding membership to be paid please. Family €20, senior €12, junior €6, pay Jimmy Casey, treasurer.

ROUNDERS

Training begins on Tuesday February 4, 8-9pm at Community Centre.  Over 16 men and women. Register by Feb 18.  New members welcome.

FUNDRAISING DANCE

Laois & Tipperary Wheelchair Basketball Clubs, Clonaslee and Roscrea are hosting a Fundraising Dance in Racket Hall, Roscrea on Friday Feb 7 at 9pm. Music by Outa Diesel. Text Alert now being set up. Enrol by filling in a form at the PO, Kelly’s Butchers or Clonaslee Pharmacy, give to Matt Barrett, chairman. The phone number of the district 24 hour Garda station will be on all new Community Alert signs.

BINGO

Bus leaves Clonaslee PO Sunday nights for bingo in Mountmellick at 7:30 pm. €5 return. Can collect from & drop to home. Call 087-743-7444.

Free electrical recycling in Community Centre car park on Thurs Feb 6, 9am –12pm.

CLONASLEE CHOIR

Clonaslee Church Choir will join with Waterford Cathedral Choir on February 23 at 12pm to sing The Brittas Mass in the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, Waterford. Bus leaves February 22 at 3pm to stay overnight. All interested in joining the choir on the trip, call Eimear 087 9422860. Cost of bus, dinner and B&B is €65. All welcome to listen or sing.

BINGO

Social Services bingo on Wednesdays, 2–4 pm in the Heritage Centre. Family Bingo is on the second and fourth Sunday of the month, 2:30pm in the Parish Hall. Cost €2. All welcome.
