CCDA AGM REPORT
AGM on February 10, reports given by the secretary, treasurer & chairperson. Reports read from Tidy Towns, Social Services & Community Alert. Discussed were Scoil Bhríde clothes drive, family bingo, Tom Conroy solo concert, enrolment in national schools, handball court, discos. A vote of sympathy for all who lost loved ones in the past year. Elected: President Fr O’Reilly, Chairperson Dolores Murray, Vice Chairperson Pat Corbet, Secretary Maura O’Gorman, Vice Sec Blathnaid Delaney, Treasurer Mary Rose Corbet, Asst Treasurer Matt Barrett, PRO Annette Doolan. Next meeting on March 10, 8:30 pm in the Community Centre.
The choir will travel to Waterford on February 23 to sing at mass. The bus is now full. A great opportunity to sing the Brittas mass outside our area.
The coffee morning in memory of Margaret Corcoran held in Emo realised €750. Proceeeds were donated to Oncology Unit, Tullamore Hospital. Thanks to all who contributed
Local Tom Conroy will perform a solo concert, singing and playing piano in The Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise this Weds February 19 at 9:30 pm. Tickets €10, at the door.
CCE music lessons
Thursdays, 4:15pm to 7:30pm in Community Centre. A variety of instruments; tin whistle, button accordion, fiddle, piano accordion, banjo & keyboard. Beginners and advanced. The village school is determining numbers for Sept ‘14. Will parents write in with child’s name, address, date of birth, PPS number and a contact number. Forms will be given later in year to all who make contact now. Call 864-8334 from 2pm to 4pm for details.
