Table Quiz

A table in aid of the Laois branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association takes place at the Clonaslee Community Centre on Friday, April 18 at 9pm.

CONGRATS

Congratulations to the children who participated and won first place in the Scor na Paistí in Mountmellick on Saturday April 5 under the direction of Margaret Conway, who also wrote the play they performed. Well done.

THANKS

The second annual ladies night was a great success. Thanks to all who helped make this night such fun and especially to Dolores Murray for doing a great job at organising the entire event. We’ll see you next year.

FLEADH CHEOIL

Entry forms for the County Fleadh Cheoil in Abbeyliex are available from branch secretary Bridget Conway on 085 1067875.

Completed forms must be returned to branch secretary by Friday April 25. Official closing date is April 30.

SINGING AND MUSIC SESSION

The next session is on Friday May 2 at 8.30pm in Clonaslee Parochial Hall. All welcome to join.

MUSIC CLASSES

Music classes resume after Easter on Thursday May 1 in the Community Centre from 4.15 to 7.30pm. Beginners welcome.

EASTER DRAW

In aid of the Irish Guide Dogs For the Blind. 1st prize Easter hamper, 2nd beer and treats hamper, 3rd ladies gift hamper, 4th gents gift hamper, 5th Killarney crystal vase, 6th Killarney crystal candle set, 7th Newgrange photo frame, 8th biscuits and wine, 9th chocolates and wine, 10th Easter egg and soft toy.

Tickets are €2 per strip, three strips for €5. Tickets available from Edel Dunne, Chapel Street or at local shops.

Signs for Text Alert are up now. You can still sign up for text alert and the cost is €10. More information from Matt Barrett on 087 6726290. When you get a text, you do not reply back. The number on the signs is what you ring if you see any suspicious behaviour in the area. The committee appeal to everyone to be very vigilant.

acquired brain injury assistance

‘Work4You’ set up by Acquired Brain Injury Ireland provides a free vocational assessment service for individuals who have an acquired brain injury and would like assistance and guidance in returning to work, training or education. Free to anyone in receipt of a payment from the Dept of Social Protection. Work4You will have an information stand in Laois Shopping Centre on Thursday April 24, 11am - 2pm. The Social Services bingo is on Wednesdays from 2 – 4pm in the Heritage Centre. Come along for bingo, chat and a cuppa.
