CLONASLEE BRANCH CCE
There is a singing and music session in the Parochial Hall, Clonaslee on Friday July 4 at 9pm, all singers and musicians welcome to attend as this is a family event. We are celebrating two years running this music session in July. Admission is free.
This year’s outing will be on July 24 to Lismore, Co Waterford. Bus will leave Clonaslee at 8 am. Tea and scones will be available in Treacy’s Hotel in Waterford that morning. We will then visit the Heritage Centre, Lismore Castle gardens and back to Lismore House Hotel for tea. Cost is €11.50 per person as part of a group rate. We head back to Waterford city in the afternoon where many places of interes are to be seen. Ladies may like to do a spot of shopping. Evening dinner will be in Treacy’s Hotel at 7 pm. Cost is €20 per person. If you don’t want to visit the places in Lismore please say so when booking your seat for the bus. A trip to Knock will be on August 14. We are also planning a trip to the seaside and a date will be published later.
Circuit training is now on Wednesday from 7-8 pm and Saturdays in the Community Centre from 10 – 11 am. This training is suitable for male or females and caters for all levels of fitness, from beginners to the advances. Cost is €7 and all welcome to join in.
Work evenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at the Heritage Centre at 6 pm each week so if anyone has an hour to spare please come along.
Final judging for the litter challenge has been completed so best of luck to Clonaslee. Judging for the national and federation is taking place at the moment so please be vigilant and keep the village clean and tidy. Thank you to everyone for the support.
Church gate collection will be on July 12/13 in aid of Tidy Towns.

laois walks festival
As part of the Laois walking festival, on this Saturday July 5, there is a Grade A walk, 10km over 2 and a half hours, in Monicknew. Meet at the Cattle mart, Mountrath at 2.30pm. Next Thursday July 10 there is a Grade B walk at Ricket’s Rock, Clonaslee. This 10 km walk takes 2 and a half hours, up into the Slieve Blooms passing Rickets Rock waterfall.
