Slieve Bloom Assoc

The next meeting of the Slieve Bloom Association will be held in the Community Centre, Kinnity on Thursday, September 4 at 8.30pm. All welcome, especially if you are interested in preserving, yet promoting the heritage of the Slieve Bloom area – we are always looking for new members. CLONASLEE SHOW

The Clonaslee Show is on this Sunday September 7. Check out the cattle, horses, sheep and poultry. Look at all the crafts and food made for competition especially the new create your own design Lego and loom bracelet classes. Local dog show starts at 1.30pm and you can enter your dog on the day. There a many new trade stands and points of interest. A fantastic display of vintage agriculture equipment can be seen. Competition for the most suitably dressed lady. Amusement rides for the kids. Come join us for a family day filled with fun.

CLODIAGH PLAYERS

Registration for our local drama group is on Monday September 1 at 8pm in the Parochial Hall for over 15s only.

Anyone interested in taking part in any capacity must be registered to be covered by insurance. This includes everyone doing anything back stage, lighting, working the door, set design, costumes, etc. We are asking all members over 18 years old to fill out a Garda vetting form which will be available on the night. Cost is €5.

CLONASLEE COMHALTAS

Clonaslee Comhaltas will be holding enrolment night on Friday September 5 for traditional music classes and singing classes, for beginners and advanced, from 7.30pm - 8.30pm in the Parochial Hall. For more information contact Bridget Conway on 085 1067875 or John Conway 085 2851772.

WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY

An ecumenical service of remembrance and hope is on in the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore on Wednesday September 10 at 7.30pm.

PLAYSCHOOL

The local playschool will be reopening on Tuesday September 2 at 9.30am. Places still available as well as the free preschool year. Contact Mary on 086 3618905 for more information.

TEXT ALERT

The text alert system is going very well. You may still sign up by contacting Matt Barrett on 087 6726290. This is an important service now that the long nights are approaching. Be vigilant at all times.

CIRCUIT TRAINING

Circuit training is on Thursdays from 7 - 8pm and Saturdays in the Community Centre from 10 – 11am. This training is suitable for male or females and caters for all levels of fitness, from beginners to the advances. Cost is €7 and all welcome to join in.
