The death took place recently at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise, of Mr Edward (Ned) McDonald, Doonane, Crettyard. Ned was very popular in the area and his passing is much regretted. His remains were removed to St Abbans Church, Doonane. Burial took place in adjoining cemetery after requiem mass. Sympathy is extended to his wife, Kathleen, sons, Edward and Michael, daughter-in-law Deirdre, granddaughter, Amy, Michael’s fiancé, Doona, sisters, Mary and Bridge, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends.

Saturday, June 21, from 10am to 1pm, walk and talk session to the turbines with information. Guides will meet the public at the entrance of the wind farms to escort visitors on the wind farm. Basic level of walking fitness required. Children welcome. Visitors will be able to see the turbines up close and information leaflets will be given out on the day.
