Lotto

The parish lotto with a jackpot of €5,050 was not won, small winners were €30 Mary Dwyer, €25 Enda Murphy and €20 Bronagh McEvoy. The lotto of January 28 will be held in the Peadar’s Bar with a possible jackpot of €5,350. Tickets must be handed in before 9.30 pm on the night of the draw to be included in that jackpot.

IFA

A meeting of Durrow IFA will be held in the Presentation Centre on Thursday January 24 at 8pm. Guest speaker on the night will be Paul Delaney, county tillage chairman. Also present on the night will be County Chairman Pat Hennessey. Please make a special effort to attend this meeting. Tickets for the Annual County IFA Dinner Dance are available from the committee. the Dinner Dance will be held on Friday night January 25 in the Manor Hotel Abbeyleix. All are welcome to attend both events

Whist

The Killermogh Parish next Whist Drive will be held in the Parocial Hall, Cork road, Durrow on January 24,2013 at 8 pm. All are welcome to attend.

Community Services

There are vacancies on Durrow Community Services- Project Secretary, Playschool Assistant and General Worker. More details from the FAS web site or contact the local office on 0578736870.

Community Council

Durrow Community Council are holding a table quiz in Dec’s Bar on Saturday January 26 at 9.30 pm. Quiz master is David Finnegan. Table of four 40 euro. Your support would be greatly appreciated as all proceeds goes to the senior citizens party on March 2. The senior citizens party will be held in the Castle Arms Hotel on Saturday March 2 at 2 pm. invitations will be distributed this week and anyone who wishes to come or nominate someone please contact any member of the committee.

Tidy Towns

A meeting will be held in Cullohill Community Centre to discuss the reviving of Cullohill Tidy Towns on Friday January 18 at 8 pm. everybody interested are invited to attend and anyone with new ideas are also asked to come and let everyone know their opinions. All are welcome to attend

Blood

The mobile unit of the Blood Transfusion service will be in Castle Arms Hotel Durrow on Tuesday January 29 from 4.30 pm to 8 pm. There is a huge need for blood and we appeal to everyone who can donate blood to come to the clinic. Over 3,000 unit of blood are needed each week and your donation will save lives . If you are between 18 yrs and 65 years old ,in good health you can donate blood. Please come and give the gift of life to some very ill patient.
