DURROW

Tragedy

Many past pupils of Presentation National School and St Fintan’s College Durrow will have many happy memories of Sr Imelda Carew, who with a colleague lost her life in a tragic swimming accident in Kerry during the past week. Sr Imelda taught pupils in both primary and Secondary school in Durrow during the late sixties and early seventies.

She was very highly respected by the students and was a super person. Her death is so sad and we all in Durrow extend to her family and to the Presentation Sisters our heartfelt sympathy and sadness. Many past pupils attended her funeral in Mountmellick on Sunday.
