Engineers Week, an annual campaign to present the possibilities a career in engineering can offer and highlight the vital role played by engineers in sustaining the community, is taking place in Laois from February 9 to 15.
On February 10, ‘Air-mazing: Engineering the Future with Pneumatics’ will touch down in the Dunamaise Arts Centre. This exciting event with live science demonstrations will examine the physics, chemistry and engineering concepts of the air.
Budding engineers will learn about pneumatics, in particular developments using pneumatics in car propulsion which is an important area of engineering in the future. Airmazing is a free event and pre booking is essential.
The week is coordinated on a national basis by Engineers Ireland as part of the STEPS programme. For further information about Engineers Week 2014 or to register, visit EngineersWeek.ie.
