DOCUMENTARY ON MEDJUGORJE

On Wednesday, September 5, Fr. Liam will present a new documentary on Medjugorje “The Queen of Peace” at 7.30 pm at the Parish Centre, Graiguecullen.

This fascinating new documentary gives an unparalleled account of the happenings in this unique Bosnian village, interweaving never before seen archival footage from the early days of the apparitions. All welcome and refreshments will be served.

FIRST FRIDAY

Next Friday, September 6 is the First Friday of the month. There will be the usual brief penitential service during the 10am Mass in St Clare’s.

COMMUNION TO THE HOUSEBOUND

Fr John will bring Holy Communion to the sick and housebound in the country area this Tuesday and Wednesday September 3 and 4 while Fr Brian will bring Holy Communion to the town area on Wednesday 11 September.

KILLESHIN FC

Killeshin FC are holding a used clothes, shoes and phones collection on Saturday, September 14. Anyone wishing to donate can deliver bagged items to Killeshin Hall car park from 12 to 4pm. on the day or if necessary we will arrange to collect. Training for under 18’s youth team starts on Tuesday September 03 and Thursday September 05 at 8 pm in Killeshin soccer pitch. Anyone interested in playing and are not available on those dates can contact 0851415791. New players welcome.

Results for Killeshin FC lotto for Sunday August 25, 8, 10, 13 and 28. There was no Jackpot winner. €25 lucky dip winners were Kiera Walker, Keith O’Rourke, Clem Fitzpatrick and Chris Nelson. The seller’s prize went to Eddie Gorman. Next Jackpot is now €11,000.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD

The Sunday school resumes next Sunday, September 8 at the 11.30am Mass in St Clare’s. Invited are all children aged between 4 years and First class to take part. The aim is to introduce the children to the Mass by taking part in activities appropriate to their age. These activities will take place in the parish centre. The children will leave at the start of Mass and will be supervised by adults and students from our second level schools. The children will return to Mass at the ‘Our Father’.

OISÍN PLAYERS

Oisín Players AGM will take place this coming Wednesday September 4 at 8pm in The Den Killeshin and hope to see all there. New members always welcome.

FIACC’S FOLK MAGAZINE 2013-2014

Please submit any articles, stories or photographs that you would like to be considered for inclusion in this year’s annual. They can be emailed to fiaccsfolk@gmail.com or left at parish office for the attention of the Editorial Committee, Fiacc’s Folk. All items must be handed in no later than Friday 20 September.

PARISH CHOIRS

St Clare’s Children’s Choir practice resumes Monday 09 September from 4.30pm to 5.30pm in Parish Centre, please note change of time. Choir is open to all primary school children and First year in secondary school.

Parish Youth Choir practice resumes Saturday 07 September and will take place each Saturday from 12.45pm to 2pm. The choir is open to all secondary school students and young adults. Musicians are also very welcome.

MONSTER PARISH BINGO

Tuesday 03 September at 8.30pm in Graiguecullen Hall and great money to be won on the night. All lines checks €50, Double lines €60, Full House’s from €150 to €200 plus Jackpot, Interval and Flyer on the night. All loose sheets €2 each, six panel book €5 and double book €10.

THURSDAY MORNING CLUB

Thursday Morning Club resumes this Thursday 05 September after 10am Mass in St Clare’s. Parishioners are invited into the Parish centre after Mass for a cuppa and a chat.

PRE-BAPTISM MEETINGS

Next meetings will be held on Monday 09 September and Monday 04 November from 7 to 8.30pm in the Parish Centre. All parents presenting their child for Baptism during the next few months are requested to attend one of the meetings.

BRIDGE CLASSES

GRAIGUECULLEN GAA

There was no Jackpot winner in the recent draw. The numbers drawn were 01, 10, 18 and 26. There was no winner so the next Jackpot will be €10,000, Reserve €10,000.
