May Sunday 4 is the 130th Anniversary of the founding of the Holy Cross Sodality. It’s the 70 Anniversary of the revival of the Procession from Graigue which the Pipe Band will lead for the 50 year in a row. Bishop Denis Nulty has accepted an invitation from the Holy Cross Sodality to walk in the Procession which leaves from St Clare’s at 10.30am and celebrate 12 noon Mass in Holy Cross Church. We invite everyone to be part of this very special occasion by walking with us.

SCHOOL FUNDRAISER

Killeshin NS Parents Committee are holding a Family Fun Table Quiz in the New School Sports Hall on Thursday 10 April at 7pm. Great cash prizes, door prizes and spot prizes. All welcome please support.

Recent Lotto results, numbers drawn were 04, 05, 09 and 21. There was no winner. €25 lucky dip winners were Breda Hickey, Eddie Brennan, Mike Moran and Kevin Fitzgerald, Sellers prize went to Colm Fitzgerald. The Lotto Jackpot now stands at €5,000.

COMMUNION TO SICK

Frs John and Brian will bring Holy Communion to the sick and housebound for Easter on this Tuesday and Wednesday 08 and 09 April.

FUN TABLE QUIZ

Fun table quiz in aid of Irish Cancer Society and Relay for Life Carlow will take place in Carpenters Lounge on Friday 11 of April at 8pm. €10 per person and all proceeds to a great cause.

ST CLARE’S

The food appeal continues during Lent. Presently they are giving out up to 120 food parcels a week. They are surviving because of donations and the huge number of volunteers helping out. To help make the Lenten Season more meaningful people are invited to leave non-perishable food items in the baskets at the church doors and in the Parish Centre and these will be used to help make up our food parcels.

PALM SUNDAY

Next Sunday is Palm Sunday. Palms will be blessed and distributed at all Masses next weekend. Holy Week & Easter Timetable now available at Church doors. Please take one.

HOLY LAND

Mass for all who are travelling on our Parish Pilgrimage on this Wednesday 09 April at 7.30pm in the Parish Centre. Meeting with Tully’s Travel afterwards. Tickets will be distributed at this meeting.

PRIESTS EASTER COLLECTION

The quarterly collection for the support of the priests of the parish will be taken up at all Masses over the Easter weekend. Envelopes are in envelope boxes or alternatively you can use the special envelopes available at church doors.

EUCHARIST

A course for new Eucharistic Ministers will take place on next Saturday 12 April from 11am to 12.30pm. Anyone interested should contact the Parish Office, 0599141833. If you are interested in finding out more about this special ministry you are welcome to attend the course. No obligation to commit.

CARLOW SPECIAL OLYMPICS

Special Olympics are holding their collection day on Friday April 11 around Carlow Town. If you would like to volunteer an hour or two of your time to help out with this fantastic cause, then please contact Bernie on 086-1593994

Carlow Special Olympics Club is continuously looking for volunteers. Do you have an hour or two to spare, once a week or once a month or even just occasionally, then they would love to hear from you. YOUTH MINISTRY SPACE

Youth Alpha Film Series continues every Thursday from 4.30 to 5.30 in the Parish Centre. Open to all secondary school students but RSVP essential. Light refreshments afterwards.

Youth Pilgrimage; we’re travelling to Glendalough for an overnight stay with our Young Adult Pilgrimage this year. Please save the date Tuesday 05 to Wednesday 06 August. We need approximate numbers in order to secure accommodation. Please Contact Cathriona in the parish centre to save your place.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL

The Society of St Vincent de Paul “Vincent’s “ shop at 46 Tullow Street Carlow urgently needs donations of good quality clothes, small furniture items, bric-a-brac and household goods. Donations will be gratefully received in the shop Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm. The Society would like to thank everyone for supporting the shop during the past year.

STAY AWAKE FOR CYSTIC FIBROSIS CARLOW

Any JPII Gold or Papal Cross Award participants interested in taking part in our Stay Awake Fundraiser taking place on Holy Saturday 20 April please collect a sponsorship card from Cathriona in the parish centre.

Congratulations to all our JPII Award recipients. Your commitment to this award has been outstanding; we hope that you continue in Parish ministry now that the award is over. Papal Cross Award applications are due by Thursday 06 March.

CORK TO CARLOW CYCLE

The 36 Annual Cork to Carlow Cycle in aid of County Carlow Wheelchair Association will take place on the 14 and 15 June with further details later. All monies raised stays in Carlow and County to support local services.

EASTER ACTIVITY CAMP

An Easter Activity Camp will be held from the 14 to 18 of April in the Graiguecullen GAA grounds. This multi-sports camp will cater for boys and girls from 7 to 12 years old. Activities will include Soccer, Gaelic Football, Rounders, Tag Rugby, Obstacle Courses, Music, Easter Egg Hunt and much more. The camp will be held from 9.30am to 2pm daily and a fruit and juice lunch will be provided. Cost per child is €50 with the second sibling paying €40.
