FIACC’S FOLK

Items are now been accepted for the Fiacc’s Folk, our Parish Annual. Please submit any articles, stories or photographs that you would like to be considered for inclusion in this year’s Annual. They can be emailed to fiaccsfolk@gmail.com or left at Parish Office for the attention of the Editorial Committee, Fiacc’s Folk. All items must be handed in no later than Friday 26 September.

TRIDUUM

A Triduum in honour of St Clare will take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday 07, 08, and 09 August at 10am Mass in St Clare’s Church. Bishop Denis Nulty will celebrate the 10am Mass on the feast day Monday 11 August.

MONSTER PARISH BINGO

Monster Parish Bingo on Tuesday 05 August at 8.30pm in Graiguecullen Hall. Great money to be won on the night. All lines checks €50, double lines €60, full house’s from €150 to €200 plus Jackpot, interval and flyer also. Cost is all loose sheets €2 each, six panel book €5 and double book €10. Everyone welcome and bring a friend. Bingo every Tuesday night at 8.30pm in St Fiacc’s Hall. Great money to be won on the night.

KILLESHIN FC

It’s the start of the new season and training for ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams has commenced on Monday nights at 7.30pm and new players are very welcome. Whist night that runs on Wednesdays will take a summer break until early September and they would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who supported the whist.

Recent Lotto results for Killeshin FC, numbers drawn were 03, 10, 11 and 22. There was no Jackpot winner. The four €25 lucky dips went to Eddie Gorman, Ann O’Brien, Tom - Paul - Lisa and Shay Doorley, Sellers prize went to Killeshin Stores. Jackpot now stands at €6,600.

DEBS CHARITY NIGHT

Second Chance Debs Charity night, Muisc, dinner and a great night out at the

NEW CYCLING CLUB

New Cycling Club starting Killeshin and surrounding areas. Meeting to be held in prefab at back of old school Killeshin on this Friday 11 July at 8pm. Everyone welcome, all over 18. All standards welcome, new or old to sport, organized spins short and long. Please contact Dick 0851743381

LOURDES PILGRIMAGE

The recent parish pilgrimage was very successful and a lovely spiritual experience for all who travelled. The group lit a large candle at the grotto for all our parish intentions. A special thanks to Ursula, the group leader and to all who worked to make the pilgrimage very special. We are going to celebrate our 40 Anniversary of the Graiguecullen/Killeshin Lourdes Invalid Fund in 2016. In order to make it special in 2016 there will be no Parish Pilgrimage in 2015. As there is a lot of interest in travelling in 2016 and there are only going to be a certain number of places available, we are asking that anyone who is planning to travel please give their name and a €20 deposit to Parish Office or Ursula Hayden at the Thatch Bar.

COMMUNITY CHILDCARE

Graiguecullen Community Childcare Centre, in the grounds of St Fiacc’s Primary School, is now taking enrolments for September 2014 for the free ECCE Preschool year for children born between 02 February 2010 and 30 June 2011. Also enrolling for Junior Preschool for children aged from 2 years 10 months and their Afterschool Service for all school age children.

Carlow County Development Partnership (CCDP) can provide many supports for older people: Care and Repair Programme, Warmer Homes Scheme, Monthly Column for Older People published monthly, Recreational Activities and Community Group Training Information Sessions, Carlow Older Persons Network and Carlow Age Friendly Initiative

YOUTH MINISTRY

Young Adult Pilgrimage open to any young people aged 18 and upwards. They will be travelling to Glendalough for an overnight stay on Monday August 11 and returning on Tuesday 12 August and it’s open to all young people, 18 to 35 years. Contact Catriona in the Parish Centre to save your place, costs €25 due by Friday 08 August.

Youth Pilgrimage Day Trip to Kildare, Open to First to Sixth Year Students on Thursday 31 July. What to expect; mixing with other teenagers, a tour of St Brigid’s Cathedral, a prayer service around St Brigid’s well, climbing the round tower and a celebration of the Eucharist together in St Brigid’s Church. Afterwards they will go to Whitewater Shopping Centre for some shopping, food and finish with a movie in the Odeon cinema. Cost is €15 due by Monday 28 July.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Athletics training takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in St Fiacc’s School at 6.30pm.

ST CLARE’S KITCHEN

A meeting of all volunteers will be held on this Tuesday night 29 July at 8pm in Graiguecullen Parish Centre to discuss plans to set up our new food kitchen.

Carlow Special Olympics Club is continuously looking for volunteers. Do you have an hour or two to spare, once a week or once a month or even just occasionally, then they would love to hear from you. ÉIST CANCER SUPPORT

The Éist Cancer Support Centre is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week from 9.30am to 4pm. The Centre is there for anyone who has been affected by a cancer diagnosis, their families and carers. The Centre offers counselling and reflexology by appointment.
