GOVERNEY PARK MASS
The Annual Governey Park Mass took place last week. They enjoyed a beautiful evening on the green at Staunton Ave and were blessed with lovely weather as so many neighbours came out to celebrate. A special word of thanks to Fr Dunphy, the men’s choir who made it so special and to Mary Hurley for the lovely tea, sandwiches and cakes. AGM next Thursday, August 7 in Graigue GAA at 7.30 pm sharp. .
A Triduum in honour of St Clare takes place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday August 7, 8, 9 at 10am Mass in St Clare’s Church. Bishop Denis Nulty will celebrate the 10am Mass on the feast day Monday 11 August. All are invited and a cup of tea afterwards.
Recent Lotto results for Killeshin FC, numbers drawn were 04, 08, 23 and 26. There was no Jackpot winner. The four €25 lucky dips went to Lisa Hickey, Elizabeth Walsh, Richard Walsh and K Hayden, The sellers prize went to Colm Fitzgerald. Jackpot now stands at €6,700.
It’s the start of the new season and training for ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams has commenced on Monday nights at 7.30pm and new players are very welcome. Whist night that runs on Wednesdays will take a summer break until early September and they would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who supported the whist.

We are going to celebrate our 40 Anniversary of the Graiguecullen/Killeshin Lourdes Invalid Fund in 2016. In order to make it special in 2016 there will be no parish pilgrimage in 2015. As there is a lot of interest in travelling in 2016 and there are only going to be a certain number of places available, we are asking that anyone who is planning to travel please give their name and a €20 deposit to Parish Office or Ursula Hayden at the Thatch Bar.
Young Adult Pilgrimage open to any young people aged 18 and upwards. They will be travelling to Glendalough for an overnight stay on Monday August 11 and returning on Tuesday 12 August and it’s open to all young people, 18 to 35 years. Youth Pilgrimage Day Trip to Kildare, Open to First to Sixth Year Students on Thursday 31 July. What to expect; mixing with other teenagers, a tour of St Brigid’s Cathedral, a prayer service around St Brigid’s well, climbing the round tower and a celebration of the Eucharist together in St Brigid’s Church. Afterwards they will go to Whitewater Shopping Centre for some shopping, food and finish with a movie in the Odeon cinema. Cost is €15 due by Monday 28 July.
Athletics training takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in St Fiacc’s School at 6.30pm.
The St Clare’s Food Kitchen still giving out 120 food parcels each week. They would like to thank everyone for their continuous support through food and donations. All food donations can still be left in the food barrels at the church doors or in the parish centre.
