Mountrath Christmas Lights will be turned on on Sunday December 2 at 6pm in the Square. This year Senator David Norris will do the official turning on. Music will be provided by St Fintan’s Church choir. We hope everyone can make it along on the evening as this is a wonderful community event. This year the committee, with the financial help of the community are adding an extra big tree at the bridge on Patrick Street. Hope to see you all there! Congrats to all the people involved in the lights who were rewarded at the annual Laois Community and Voluntary Awards. The judges said it was seldom that the wonderful sight of a town or village lit up with coloured lighting and Christmas trees doesn’t have a positive effect on people. In Mountrath, this is no different. This group works with great effort from September, to ensure that the town is lit to capacity at Christmas time, creating a festive atmosphere for local people as well as those travelling through the local area, raising eyes and spirits as they look on.

Playground committee

Congrats to all the people involved in the Mountrath Playground / Amenity Park Committee who were rewarded at the annual Laois Community and Voluntary Awards .
