Charity Gospel Concert

Tullamore Gospel Choir (under the direction of Brendan Keely) and Scoil Bhride Pupils, will perform in St Fintan’s Church Mountrath on Tuesday, December 10 at 7.30p.m. Tickets are available from Costcutters Mountrath, Centra Mountrath, Scoil Bhride and on the door on the night. Tickets €10, children free. A fantastic night assured.

Community Forum

Congrats to all the Mountrath people and groups who were recognised for their voluntary work at the Laois Community Forum Community and Voluntary Awards which are supported by the Leinster Express. All the scouts, beavers, cubs and leaders would like to congratulate Mai Dunne (group leader) and Anne-Marie Phelan for being nominated for the Laois Community Volunteer Awards 2013.

MOUNTRATH & DISTRICT CAMERA CLUB

Our last meeting of 2013 is on Tuesday December 3 at 8pm in METAC, Mountrath. Photo Theme is ‘Themes’, photo size 8x6 inches, one photo per member. You may choose one theme from the themes that ran during the year and either re-take or re-enter a photo. There will be awards for ‘Photographer of the Year 2013’ (1st, 2nd and 3rd places) on the night of our Christmas Party so there is still a chance of snatching a prize! Don’t forget €3.00 for the kitty.

We will be having our Christmas Party on Saturday, December 14 in Mountrath Golf Club. Tickets for buffet and music are €20, tables booked for 8pm, doors open from 7pm or €10 for entry to music only after 9pm. Contact a committee member for tickets and more details ASAP as places may be limited. It would be lovely to see as many members as possible for a good night

DOG FOULING

Dog fouling is a growing litter problem in the town, every path in the town is covered in it daily. It is a nightmare for walkers and a health hazard for young children. Local awareness to identify the dog owners responsible is required. Please contact the Council’s freephone litter hotline @ 1800 32 32 30 with specific details if witnessed i.e. name and address of dog owner, location, time and date.
