Mountrath Community Alert

The alert group is made up of volunteers who are dedicated to helping to prevent crime to the public and local groups, clubs and residents groups. The next meeting takes place on Thursday, February 27 in the old Gem Shop at 8pm sharp. People can register on the Text alert service until March 4. Each phone is €10.

Adult Book Club

Next meeting on Thursday March 6 in Mountrath Library. We will be discussing ‘Before I Die’ by Jenny Dowhnam.

Knitting Club

The knitting club continues at the Library to meet every Friday 10.30am-12.30pm.

SCHOOL ENROLMENT

Enrolments for all children in the Mountrath starting school in September 2014 at Scoil Bhride & St Fintan’s continue in February.

MOUUNTRATH & DISTRICT CAMERA CLUB

Many thanks to Alf Harvey who judged our ‘New’ theme during our last meeting. Winners were 1st Aine Purcell, 2nd Lori Strang, 3rd Peter Haslam, and 4th Heather Rice. Congratulations to our top four on the night and well done to all who entered. Our meetings are now at the new time of 9pm to facilitate members who are attending photography classes in METAC. The theme running for February is Winter Wonderland. Photo size = 8 x 6 inches, nothing under or above this size will be accepted. One photo per person. Membership renewal until the end of February at the latest, new members always welcome

TOTS & CO PLAYSCHOOL

4 Newline Close, Mountrath, are now taking registration for children who are due to commence playschool in September 2014. If your child was born between 02/02/2010 & 30/06/2011 they are entitled to a year of free playschool. For details Contact Colette on 0874162377 or call into the playschool for a registration form.

OUTDOOR GYM

The outdoor gym in the local amenity park can be used by all ages. We would encourage all local groups to use it.

The sale of jam continues in Costcutters and Phelan’s Shop Castletown.
