Condolences to the family of the late Jim Tynan of Clonincurragh, Mountrath, formerly of Jim’s Country Kitchen, Portlaoise who passed away at Beaumont Hospital Dublin, on Tuesday, September 10. Husband of Sarah and father of Kathy, Craig and Chloe, Jim is also deeply regretted by his extended family, neighbours, relatives and friends. Reposed at his home with removal to St Edmund’s Church Castletown for Funeral Mass followed by interment in St. Fintan’s Cemetery Mountrath. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Denis Burkett Unit at St James Hospital Dublin.

A super end of summer party was hosted by Ballyfin Vintage & Veteran Club in the hall last Sunday week. It was especially enjoyed by children with special needs and their families. Many thanks to the vintage club.

Mountrath Does Strictly

Strictly - The Movie
All roads lead to Mountrath GAA Field on Saturday September 21 at 3 pm.
There will be a camera crew coming that day to make a short comedy promotional movie for the Strictly Come Dancing Show to be shown on the night.
What we need is 100 people or more to come along as extras for the movie. It won’t take long and will fun. All ages are very welcome to take part.
The Mountrath branch of Laois Heart Foundation will hold it’s monthly meeting in the Cosy Cafe at 8p.m. on Wednesday September 18. All new members are welcome.
