The Novena in SS Peter & Paul’s Church continues on Wednesday, April 16 when Sr Briege will speak on the topic of miracles. Portlaoise Parish Youth group will be providing tea and scones afterwards to raise money for the Camino Youth Pilgrimage.

‘Work4You’ set up by Acquired Brain Injury Ireland provides a free vocational assessment service for individuals who have an acquired brain injury and would like assistance and guidance in returning to work, training or education. Portlaoise College’s TY class present documentary The Forgotten Famine People of Queens County 1845-50 that tells the story of the famine in Laois. The film will be screened on May 7 at 8pm in the Dunamaise Arts Centre €5 entry.

Late John O’REILLY
Condolences to the family of the late John O’Reilly of 38 Marian Ave, Portlaoise who died on April 5. Beloved husband of Mary and much loved father of Anna, Lillie, Mary, John, Colm and Anthony also deeply regretted extended family, relatives and friends. Reposing at his home. Removal to Ss Peter & Paul’s Church for Requiem mass. Interment afterwards in Ss Peter & Paul’s Cemetery.
