Christine Gallagher of the Railway Bar, Portarlington, together with her sister Josephine Casey, recently attended a cheque presentation at BreastHealth Mater where they presented Mary Moorhead, Chief Executive of the Mater Foundation with €7,335.

Josephine is a breast cancer survivor and is currently undergoing treatment at BreastHealth Mater whose services are enhanced through funding by the Mater Foundation Breast Cancer Appeal. The money was raised through sponsorship of the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon which took place on June 4.

The funds will be specifically allocated to the new Lymphodema Service at BreastHealth Mater of which Josephine is a patient, this service is only possible through funding by the Mater Foundation.

Mary Moorhead said, “Support like this is invaluable in continuing to ensure that BreastHealth Mater is one of the leading providers of breast care in Ireland. We are so grateful to Christine and Josephine, their family and friends for all their overwhelming support.”
