Well done to the pupils from Raheen National School who won an award at the Young Scientist Competition for Primary schools with their project on Yawning.
New members of all ages needed for Raheen choir for the special occasion of the re-dedication of our parish church on Sunday 23 March. Choir rehearsals will begin on Tuesday night (tonight) 18 February at 7.30 pm in the Red Cross Centre, Raheen. We extend a particular welcome to any members of Shanahoe choir who would like to join us for this occasion.

‘Work4You’ set up by Acquired Brain Injury Ireland provides a free vocational assessment service for individuals who have an acquired brain injury and would like assistance and guidance in returning to work, training or education. It is free to anyone with an acquired brain injury and in receipt of a payment from the Dept. of Social Protection. If you would like more information, Work4You are holding a Pop-Up Information Stand in Abbeyleix Library on Friday 28 February 2014 between 12pm – 1.30pm. All are welcome.
Laois week in An Grianán takes place from 16 - 20 June. Courses available include cookery, dancing, fabric boxes, Assissi Embroidery, bets and bits, photography, pamper me, aromatherapy and encaustic art. Places are open to members and non members.
