Laois Hospice AGM

The Laois Hospice Foundation AGM is on Friday, January 17 at 8pm in the Killeshin Hotel. Special guests Sean O’Rourke and Eileen Dunne of RTÉ. Come along and hear about hospice services in Laois and where monies are spent. This should be a very enjoyable and stimulating night. All welcome. Refreshments will be served. BOOK CLUB

MEN’S SHED

With the new year now is the time to coming along to the Men’s Shed. It is open every Thursday morning from 10am to 12 noon at the old Convent School. The hospitality room is now completed. A great opportunity for all men to come together to share their skills and talents, learn new ones or simply meet for a chat and a cuppa. New members welcome. Lots of new projects and classes to plan for the year.

GAA AGM

Rathdowney/Errill GAA club held their AGM in Rathdowney clubrooms. Outgoing chairman, Justin Kavanagh welcomed everyone and thanked the team mentors, committee and all who helped out in 2013. Secretary Raymond Kelly gave a report on the club’s performances. Treasurer, Pat Whelan outlined finances. There was a large turnout and many topics were discussed for 2014. Officers elected: chairperson Francis Carroll, vice chairperson Justin Kavanagh, secretary Alex Stenson, asst secretary Raymond Kelly, treasurer Pat Kelly, asst treasurer Pat Whelan, PRO Paula Loughman, County Board delegate Mick Fitzpatrick.
