TABLE QUIZ

The Parents Council of St Colmcille’s National School, Errill are hosting a Table Quiz on Friday, February 7 at 9pm in Ray’s Lounge, Errill. Table of 4 will be 20 euro. Spot prizes and raffle on the night. Please support this worthy cause.

PARENT & TODDLER GROUP

The Parent & Toddler group meet on Friday mornings from 10-12 in the Marion Centre. All parents and minders with children from new born to pre-school welcome.

BINGO

A great Bingo is held every Tuesday Night at 8.30 in the Rathdowney Community Centre. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Bingo is run by the Community Centre Group.

DRAWING LESSONS

MEN’S SHED

With the new year, now is the time to come along to the Men’s Shed. It is open every Thursday morning from 10am to 12 noon at the old Convent School. The hospitality room is now complete. It is a great opportunity for all men to come together to share their skills and talents, learn new ones or simply meet for a chat and a cuppa. New members welcome every week. We are looking forward to a New Year with loads of new projects and classes to plan.

STRICTLY COME DANCING

Rathdowney/Errill Hurling club and St Brigid’s Camogie club are hosting “Strictly Come Dancing” in the Templemore Arms on Saturday March 1. Preparations for this event are well underway. This guarantees to be an enjoyable night for all. Limited number of tickets will be available so it will be first come first served. Tickets are €20 each and are currently on sale. GAA LOTTO

There was no winner in this week’s Jackpot which was €11,800. The numbers drawn were 2, 6, 12, 20. The 10 winners of €15 were John Dalton, David McKelvey, Conor Percy, Liz Dowling, Noel Loughlin, Jim Houlihan, Noel O Sullivan, Paddy Purcell, Aoife Maher, Frank White. Tickets can be purchased from all shops or any local promoter.

JUVENILE GAA

The annual registration night will take place on Saturday February 8 between 7.30 and 9pm. Membership for the year is €20 per child and €40 for a family. There will be light refreshments served on the night so come along for a chat, or if any new members have any questions they would like to ask the committee they will be there to give a helping hand.

IRISH CLASSES

If you are interested in learning or refreshing your spoken Irish, classes will take place on Monday evenings at 7.30 in Scoile Bhride, Rathdowney. No charge for these classes. Classes are suitable for adult beginners. For more details please contact 0505 46546.

The AGM of St Brigids Camogie Club takes place on Saturday, February 1 at 8pm at the Rathdowney GAA clubrooms.All Welcome

Tidy Towns

Wee Recycling

Free WEEE Ireland electrical and battery recycling morning supported by Laois County Council. All batteries recycled on the day will go towards the “Spread a Little Sunshine” campaign in aid of LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice. Takes place on the Town Square, Rathdowney on Tuesday, February 4 from 9am to 12pm. .
