BINGO

A great Bingo is held every Tuesday Night at 8.30 in the Rathdowney Community Centre. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Bingo is run by the Community Centre Group.

DONAGHMORE

The Donaghmore Workhouse and Agricultural Museum is open Monday to Friday 11am to 5pm. Come and see for yourself what life was like in a real workhouse.

PANTOMIME

Rehearsals for the 2014 Rathdowney Pantomime ‘Time of our Lives’ are at an advanced stage, with the opening night on Thursday April 10 fast approaching.

The show, which has a cast of 130 men, women and children, will be staged for four nights in the Community Centre, April 10-13, with an afternoon matinee on Sunday April 13.

Booking will commence in the Card Stand from Thursday April 3.

The new panto, penned by Michael Creagh and Niall O’Doherty, is full of music and drama with a special story. It will be well worth seeing.

EASYRIDERS

Easyriders Charity Cycle Group have started a bonus ball in Ian’s.

The draw takes place every Saturday night, only €2 per line. Please support.

COUNTRY MARKET

A Country Market takes place in Borris-in-Ossory every Saturday from 10.30am-1.30pm.

DRAWING LESSONS

There will be drawing lessons in the Community Centre on Tuesday April 1 and Tuesday April 8, from 10am to 12.

GAA LOTTO

There was no winner in this week’s Rathdowney GAA Lotto Jackpot which was €1,450.

The numbers drawn were 1, 7, 20, 22.

The 10 winners of €15 were Mary Whelan, David Moynan, Joseph Behan, Shane Keegan, Martin Peters, Kevin Delaney, Tadgh Barry, Cillian Stenson, Tom Carroll and Marian O’Brien.

Next week’s Jackpot will be €1,600. Tickets can be purchased from all shops or any local promoter.

CUISLE CENtre

A Fun Fundraising night is being held in aid of Cuisle Centre Cancer Support. “Here Comes The Girls” is on Saturday April 12 in Rosie O Grady’s Pub, Borris in Ossory at 9pm. Free cocktail for the girls before 10pm. Ladettes are welcome. Prize for the best dressed Lady/Ladette on the night is sponsored by Annie Apple. Music by TMC. Spot prizes and raffle on the night. TEMPLE STreet

A collection for Temple Street will be held in the entrance of Supervalu Rathdowney this Friday April 4. Money raised by our generous and loyal supporters goes to help sick children and their families. None of our donor’s money goes towards hospital management salaries or allowances. All our funding goes directly where it’s needed most – to purchase vital life saving equipment, fund ward redevelopments, improve support services for patients and their families, and finance groundbreaking research. Every single act, every donation and every fundraising event you host or support makes life better for sick kids in Temple Street and their families.

PARENT & TODDLER

The Parent and Toddler Group meet on Friday mornings 10-12 in the Marion Centre. All parents and minders with children from new born to pre-school welcome.

Laois Ica federation

Laois week in An Grianán takes place from June 16-20. Courses available include cookery, dancing, fabric boxes, Assissi Embroidery, bets & bits, photography, pamper me, aromatherapy and encaustic art. Places are open to members and non members.
