This is an outstanding achievement for such a young athlete who has worked very hard over the past year in this discipline. Kaley has got great encouragement and coaching from her mother Kate and Sandra Gillick (Templemore AC coach). Kaley threw 16.3 meters, this was over 2 meters ahead of the field. Her team mate Molly Nevin threw 11.6m so they also won the combined gold. Kaley is following the footsteps of the great local throwers from the 50s Paddy Cleere and the Creaghs of Harristown. Well done also to Casey Crous silver in Munsters and ran a great All Ireland.
