community alert agm

Ratheniska Community Alert AGM will take place on Thursday January 16 at 8pm in the GAA clubhouse.

The committee hope that each household in the area will be represented at this meeting. New members are also welcomed. The committee would also like to wish everyone a happy, healthy and safe New Year.

CHRISTMAS CRACKER

On the last Sunday of 2013 the Park/Ratheniska GAA Club held their first ever Christmas Cracker, which saw close to 200 people take to the roads on Ratheniska for a 5KM run/walk/cycle, culminating in a unique obstacle course finale in our GAA grounds.

Richie Reid had the honour of leading the field home and becoming the first winner of the event, streaking away from the field in fine fashion as he vaulted the numerous obstacles which were dotted around the GAA field.

Denis Brennan took home the Will McEvoy Trophy for being the first Clubman over the line, despite being chased all the way by John Sugrue and Tommy White, while Laura Hyland lead the ladies over the finishing line. All in all the event was a tremendous success with young and old enjoying the day out.

The Club would like to thank all who helped out and competed on the day, with special mention going to our organisers John Kelly, Gerard Ramsbottom, Max Ramsbottom, Jim Morrin, Christy Fingleton and all else who contributed to making the event the success it was.

A great end to 2013 for the Club and we all look to 2014 with renewed hopes and vigour, thanks to you all once again, and we’ll see you in 2014.
