A Reaching Out Together workshop is coming to Portlaoise on April 9 in the Portlaoise Parish Centre at 8pm.

Ireland Reaching Out (Ireland XO) are now working with This unique alliance will see the development of “Reaching Out Together” which will include community information sessions and other great offers for those involved and interested in genealogy.

Speaking about the partnership Ireland XO’s (Ireland Reaching Out), Henry Healy stated: “It made sense for Ireland XO to join forces with, as our volunteers are dedicated to assisting the diaspora connect with their ancestral communities and we believe “Reaching Out Together” will enhance their efforts and skills to connect with our ancestral sons and daughters.

“The partnership also ensures that interested communities around Ireland will have an opportunity to attend the Ireland XO & Ancestry seminars which will discuss the role of ancestry and reverse genealogy in bringing our diaspora home.

Eric Booth of said: “I hope this programme will serve as a platform to encourage new domestic users to engage with genealogy in Ireland and preserve their past for future generations, something that is vital to maintain our nation’s ancestral roots”.

Discussing the Reaching Out Together roadshow Ireland XO programme manager Susan O’Brien said: “We look forward to bringing Ireland Reaching Out’s message on reverse genealogy to local communities.”
