Scoil Chriost Ri students have reached the final of Junk Kouture, after being chosen as the wildcard entry.

On the night of the competitions semi finals in Limerick recently, judges only announced 19 of the southern finalists and the 20th spot would be later announced by Rosanna Davison in person in one of the semi finalists schools.

The girls got a surprise visit in school from Junk Kouture judge Rosanna Davison last month, when she presented the girls with their golden ticket to the final.

From last September to last January, Scoil Chriost Ri transition year students have been recycling, reusing and reducing waste by creating Junk Kouture fashion! Under the tuition of Art teacher Jayne Louise Kelly they produced 12 fabulous innovative fashion Junk Kouture Creations for this years Junk Kouture National competition.

Over 2,500 national entries were received and the judges have whittled the entrants down to just 80 outfits in total to compete on the catwalk in the national grand final.

The second round of voting for the 2014 competition will take place from 9am on April 14 until midnight on April 25. Voting is even more important this time around as votes will be used in a tie breaker situation (as it did in last year’s final) when the judges are indecisive. Voting again will take place on the ERP Facebook page during the Easter holidays.

Speaking to the Leinster Express, Jayne Louise said that the girls had worked very hard on their creations.

“The girls have worked so hard and its a fantatic achievement to have made it to the finals so please support Scoil Chriost Rí Alatinium to win Junk Kouture 2014!”

Everyone is encouraged to vote for the school and tell their family and friends.
