Two dates for your diary at An Sean Chistin, Irey, Ballyfin, Tuesday July 29 Rambling House Session with special guest Sam O’Doherty, accordionist.

Thursday July 31 Reliving the Memories, an evening of songs, poems and stories of Laois with special guest Tommy Drennan of The Monarchs Showband fame.

Both events at 8pm hosted by Maureen Culleton.

Rosenallis AFC Soccer Camp

Roesnallis AFC are holding their Soccer Camp from Monday to Friday July 28 to August 1, 9.30am to 2pm in The Grove. For boys aged 6-12 years old, Bring Lunch. Free Football. Book early as places are limited. €25 per child or two siblings for €40.

Clonaslee Branch CCE

Singing and music session first Friday of each month at 8.30pm in the Parochial Hall Clonaslee. All welcome, family event.

Martin Fallon Trad Weekend

Rosenallis Tidy Towns

Thanks to everyone who donated and collected at the recent church gate collection which raised €440.10. This money goes towards petrol for grass cutting, weedkiller, flowers and other items required by the CE team working in the village.

We would like to thank them for their hard work, the graveyard looks well and is a credit to them and the Graveyard committee.

Sympathies

Deepest sympathy is offered to the family of Mary Foynes nee Maher Brocca, Clonaslee and formerly Rosenallis. Mrs Foynes passed peacefully on June 3.

Deepest Sympathy to the Egan family on the death of Mattie Egan, Deepark, Ballyfin who died peacefully at home on June 24 surrounded by his loving family.

Deepest sympathy also to the family of Mary Dunne nee Kirwan, The Catholes Clonurk, Ballyfin who was a retired staff member from St Vincent’s Hospital, Mountmellick.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.
