CHRISTMAS FAIR

Christmas fair in Stradbally Hall, Saturday and Sunday, December 14/15. Entry €2, 11am to 6pm. There will be a raffle in aid of Stradbally Cottages, with a chance to win a pair of Electric Picnic 2014 day tickets.

Community Forum

Congrats to all who were recognised for their voluntary work at the Laois Community Forum Community and Voluntary Awards, supported by the Leinster Express.

GOAL MILE 2013

Christmas Day in Oakvale Woods, 10am-12 noon. Organised by Billy O’Neill. Proceeds to GOAL project in the Philippines.

THE LATE HARRY KELLY

The death occurred on November 21 of Harry Kelly, Loughteague, Stradbally, peacefully in the loving care of the doctors, nurses and staff at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Much loved husband of Chrissie and devoted father to Lucy, John, Michael Helen and Angela. Sadly missed by his wife, sons, daughters, brothers William and John, sisters Lucy (Gannon), and Josie (Deay), son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighbours, relatives and a large circle of friends.

His remains were reposing at his home until removal on Sunday to the Church of the Holy Cross, Ratheniska for requiem mass at 12pm with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Next whist Friday, December 20, 8.30pm. This will be the Christmas whist, top score will be €60, plus other prizes.

FLOWER AND GARDEN CLUB

Demonstration of flower arrangements by Claire Feeney in St Josephs Hall on Wednesday, December 11 at 8pm.

CHRISTMAS TREE

The Stradbally Tidy Towns Christmas Tree Draw will be held in Dunnes on Saturday, December 21.

COMMUNITY GAMES

The Community Games silver circle, week two winners were €200 Martin Mahon, other winners Mary Walsh, John Donohue, Mary Holohan, Niamh Kavanagh, Mary Dwyer.
