Save Our Stradbally Wind Turbine Action Group will hold a public meeting on Thursday, February 20 at 8pm in St Patrick’s Community Hall, Main Street (opposite Napper Tandy’s pub). Come and hear what turbines are proposed in our area.
THE LATE OLIVE DEVOY (NEE MORAN)
The death occurred peacefully on February 10 at the Portlaoise Regional Hospital after a long illness of Olive Devoy (nee Moran), Main Street, Stradbally and formerly from Woodview. Pre deceased by her husband Bill, she is sadly missed by her loving family, daughters Cora and Sarah, sons John and David, brothers Christy, Dan, John, Martin and Dominic, sister Birdie, sisters in law Dorrie, Trish and Chris, grandchildren Emmalina and Daniel, nieces and nephews, neighbours and friends. Her remains were reposing at the Presentation Chapel, Stradbally on Tuesday and following requiem mass at 11am on Wednesday in The Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally, interment took place afterwards to Churchtown Cemetery, Co. Kildare.

THE LATE THOMAS (SAMMY) BYRNE
The sudden and unexpected death (at the early age of 54) occurred on February 8 of Thomas Byrne, No 1, Church Avenue, Stradbally. Affectionately known as Sammy, and son of the late Edward and Mary, he is survived by his brothers Liam, Declan and Paul, sisters Olive, Frances, Helen and Nicola, sisters in law, brothers iin law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends to whom we tender our deepest sympathy. His remains were reposing at the Presentation Chapel, Stradbally until removal to the Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday and following 12 noon requiem mass his remains were interred in Oakvale Cemetery, Stradbally.

The annual general meeting of the Stradbally and District Anglers Association will be held in St Mary’s Hall on March 3 commencing at 8pm. All concerned are requested to attend and new members welcome.
