THE LATE MARGARET ROGERS (NEE MOLLOY)

The death occurred at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise and in the vfery good care of the Matron and Staff of Droimnin Hursing Home, Stradbally on Friday, April 11 of Margaret Rogers (nee Molloy, Knocknabrahar, Stradbally, London and recently No 3 The Mill, Stradbally. Very sadly missed by her daughter Sandra, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, son-in-law, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Her remains were reposing at the Presentation Chapel, Stradbally on Monday 14 and following requiem mass on Tuesday 15 in the Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally, interment took place in Oakvale Cementary.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH MEETING

A meeting of the Stradbally Neighbourhood Watch will be held on Monday, May 12 in St Mary’s Hall commencing at 7.30pm.

WEDDING BELLS

Wedding bells rang out in St Michael’s Church, Timahoe on Friday, April 11, on the occasion of the marriage between Gemma O’Connor, daughter of Jim and Angela, Kyle, Timahoe and Colm Kelly, son of Tom and Breda, Aughamaddock, Stradbally. Fr Kelly officiated at the ceremony and the organist/soloist was Karen Fitzpatrick, from Timahoe. The bride was accompanied by her bridesmaids Marita O’Connor, Ann Marie Kelly and Aimee Kelly, while the flowergirls were Ella and Ava O’Connor. The bestmen were Brian, Alan and Mark Kelly while the pageboys were Daniel Jones and Darragh Kelly.

The reception for over 200 guests was held in the Hotel Kilkenny and the happy couple are spending their honeymoon in Disneyland and Mexico.

WEDDING BELLS

The Church of the Sacred Heart, Stradbally was the setting for the marriage on Saturday, April 12, between Kelly-Ann O’Sullivan, daughter of Tim and Carol, Brockley Park, Stradbally and James Wall, son of Addie and Marian, Woodview, Stradbally. Fr Kelly officiated at the ceremony and the organist/soloists were Vocalese. The bridesmaids were Catherine O’Sullivan, Niamh O’Sullivan, Mary O’Sullivan and Martina O’Sullivan while the flowergirl was Anna Murphy. The bestman was Stephen Wall while the groomsmen were Tim O’Sullivan, William Kearns, and Ian Whelan and the pageboy was Jayden Kelly.

The reception was held in the Clanard Hotel, Athy and the happy couple are spending their honeymoon in Las Vegas and Mexico.

Laois Hunt Point to Point races will be held at Stradbally Hall on Sunday, May 18.

WHIST DRIVE

Next whist will be held on April 25.

SHAVE OR DYE

Ray’s gang head shave will be in the Napper Tandy, Stradbally on Saturday, May 24. Proceeds in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.

CONCERT FOR DYSART ENOS CHURCH

The Dysart Enos Church conservation group will be hosting a fundraising concert in the Church of the Holy Cross, Ratheniska on Saturday, May 3 commencing at 7.30pm. For more information contact Kate on 086 8050585.

VICARSTOWN ACTIVE RECREATIONAL GROUP

Walking will commence on Wednesday, April 23 at 7.30pm from the bridge in Vicarstown. The annual outing will take place to Ballymascanlon House Hotel, Carlingford, on July 27. Phone 057 8626158.
