Sean Tierney and Dillon Sheil represented TaraBags, a mini company from St Mary’s CBS in Portlaoise, in the Dragons Den final in the Maker Hotel in Dublin on Saturday January 25.
The company, which also includes Darragh Hewitt, Richie Hitchcock and Alex Ramsbottom, fought off strong competition to make the final, with only sixty companies nationwide selected.
Tarabags product is a biomedical bag specifically designed to cater for the needs of diabetics, which includes a cooler compartment for insulin, a section for used needles, and is the perfect size to hold all equipment.
It can be customized with a variety of designs and is available in a range of colours.
The product generated a lot of interest at the exhibition as the teams competed for one of the sixteen spots to enter the den.
The team received very positive feedback and were highly commended by the judges, but unfortunately they will not progress to the next stage.
Tarabags are a promising young company who are working hard to make their business a success. They have some big plans for the future.
