Abbeyleix U-10s have successful day in Naas

Abbeyleix U-10s travelled to Saint Mary‘s Naas last weekend to attend the Newbridge U10s Blitz fielding three teams who enjoyed a very sporting Hockey Blitz.

Each team had to work hard in their games and particularly our youngest team who gained a lot of experience in their four games.

The more experienced players really gave their opponents good, challenging games. As is intended in this Blitz format, all players improved their skills with every game played.

Teams from Naas, Newbridge, North Kildare & Abbeyleix brought to almost 150 young players who took part in the games along with their team leaders.

The club are very grateful to the organisers in Newbridge - Lynda, her organising team, the Umpires, caterers & all who made the day so enjoyable. Abbeyleix Club is very grateful to Sarah, Pauline, Mary, Mairéad & Bryan who ably assisted the teams. Another super experience for our young & promising players in the 2012-2013 season on a fresh
spring morning.

Our next Blitz & last U10s Blitz of the season, is scheduled for March 10th 2013 hosted by our own Club. This Blitz will be held in the Caragh Road Sport’s Centre with the kind permission of Naas Hockey Club.

Abbeyleix will organise the event along with the catering! Meanwhile we will continue to prepare by spending our sessions practicing lots of skills.
