Amazing Aine a star in the making

Arguably the most outstanding performance over the two days in O’Moore Park in the 17 Cumann na mBunscol Finals came in this game as Paddock’s Aine Cuddy scored an incredible 8-7 to secure victory for her side.

Three of her goals came in the first seven minutes of the game and her scoring rate barely dipped throughout the game as she terrorised the Clonaghadoo defence from start to finish.

After Cuddy’s opening salvo, Clonaghadoo briefly fought back with a fine solo goal from Ciara Hughes but Paddock and Cuddy in particular were undeterred as the onslaught continued up to half-time as they built a 7-2 to 2-1 lead.

Cuddy added two more goals herself while midfielder Lauren Burke did likewise with Clonaghadoo’s response coming late in the half when Sarah Fogarty found the back of the net.

Despite trailing by 16 points, Clonaghadoo to their credit made a real go of it in the second-half as goals from Carey O’Brien and Ciara Hughes gave them hope.

However Paddock rediscovered their first half-form adding another 3-5 to their total, all from the talented boot of ace forward and undoubted star of the future Aine Cuddy.
