A superb individual display from Ciaran Carroll proved pivotal as Wolfhill NS claimed the Division 7 Cumann na mBunscol title with a win over Arles.

Cumann na mBunscol Boys Division 7 Final

.

Wolfhill 4-11

Arles 4-3

.

The midfield general scored 3-7 of his side’s 4-11 to guide them to victory. It was doubly hard on Arles as it came in the wake of the defeat of the girls’ defeat in their final.

Alan Merrigan was the top scorer for Arles with a hat-trick of his own however it was not enough to stop Wolfhill claiming the title

Wolfhill took the early lead with a brace of points from Ciaran Carroll but Arles hit back quickly with Mikey O’Shea finding the back of the net to put his side in front.

Carroll knocked over another point for Wolfhill but Arles were soon three points in front when Alan Merrigan slotted home the first of his three goals.

Wolfhill couldn’t find the back of the net in the first half but they did kick nine points, eight from Carroll and one from Joseph Morrin, to go in at half-time leading 0-9 to 2-1.

Alan Merrigan fired Arles back into the lead after the restart with a quickfire 1-1 but Wolfhill hit back with goals from Carroll and Barry Knowles and from that point they were not headed again.

Merrigan hit back with his third goal but Ciaran Carroll rounded off the game with another 2-1 of his own to close out the win for Wolfhill
