EMO blitzed Annannough on Saturday in the first of the Intermediate semi-finals to move a step closer to an immediate return to the senior ranks after their shock relegation last year.

Emo 5-18

Annanough 1-10

.

With all due respect to a gallant Annanough side who never gave up and battled right to the end, they were overmatched as Emo were simply in a different class on the day. They had the game wrapped up inside 20 minutes as they had built a 3-7 to 0-2 with Billy Sheehan and Evan Costello forming a deadly duo in the inside forward line.

Annannough briefly threatened a revival either side of half-time as they outscored Emo by 1-3 to 0-1 but the Emo men soon regained the upper hand and clinically put the game away scoring a quickfire 1-3 of their own without reply before closing out the game with six of the last eight points.
