Kilcormac/Killoughey get the better of Rathdowney/Errill in midlands derby

A late scoring flurry of 1-6 in the final 15 minutes was enough to see Offaly champions Kilcormac/Killoughey through to the Leinster Senior Club Hurling Final at the first attempt as they came back to overcome Laois champions Rathdowney/Errill in Tullamore on Sunday.
Leinster Senior Club Hurling semi-final
Kilcormac/Killoughey 2-12
Rathdowney/Errill 0-14
.
Rathdowney/Errill had been on top for much of the game and deservedly lead by 0-12 to 1-6 after 43 minutes. They should have extended that lead further soon after but a lose ball in front of goal after a Ross King shot was saved would not fall for Liam Tynan and he had to settle for a point.
Kilcormac/Killoughey took advantage of that lifeline and rattled off four points in a row to get level before Peter Geraghty’s goal three minutes from time put them into the lead. Two further from Dan Currams and Geraghty were the insurance scores as a late point from Ross King could not alter the outcome of the game.
