St Joseph’s-Barrowhouse picked up their second Laois U-21 ‘A’ football title in four years on Sunday afternoon, as Paul Kingston’s second half goal helped them on their way to a seven point victory.

St Joseph’s-B’house 1-13

Mountmellick-Ballyfin 0-9

The victory was no less than they deserved, but certainly the case could be made that the final scoreline didn’t fully reflect the impact Mountmellick-Ballyfin had on the game. They dominated possession for long spells in the second half, and had it not been for some inspired goalkeeping from Dermot Kelly they could have had a much more difficult afternoon.
