Laois draw Carlow in Qualifiers

The Laois senior footballers will play Carlow in the Round 1 of the All-Ireland SFC Qualifiers after the draws were made on Monday.

Laois have been drawn as the home team but official confirmation of times and venues was to be made at a meeting of the GAA’s CCCC in Croke Park yesterday (Tuesday). The game’s have been scheduled for June 30, a Saturday, and if Laois retain home advantage, they game is likely to go ahead that Saturday evening.

There is plenty of rivalry between the counties, but the most recent meeting was back in 2006, when Laois cruised to a 1-17 to 1-9 victory in O’Moore Park. The teams also met in the O’Byrne Cup earlier this year, with Laois again winning out after a closely fought games.

The Qualifier draw in full is: Laois v Carlow; Louth v Westmeath; Roscommon v Armagh; Fermanagh v Cavan; Offaly v Tipperary; London v Antrim; Wicklow v Waterford; Derry v Longford
